What if I’ve never done yoga?
All the better reason to be here! Uplift is for everyone. A great place to start is our class Find Your Flow. It’s all about learning how to move and work with your body. No expectations, no judgements. I want you to feel comfortable and would love to chat before or after class to help you feel confident on your mat and off.
What class should I start with?
If you’ve never done yoga before, need a refresher, or prefer a gentler practice, try Find Your Flow.
If you want to have some fun, like creativity, and enjoy a dynamic practice, come to The Uplift.
If you want to sweat it out while getting your stretch and meditation on, get excited for Empower Hour coming this Winter (and try our other classes while you wait)!
Is yoga hard? What if I’m not flexible?
Then you’ve come to the right place. Yoga is often assumed to be easy, but that’s not always the case. Some classes, like Find Your Flow are gentle and slower paced, making it a relaxing experience with a little bit of work involved. You will still be challenged though. Other classes, like Empower Hour are more rigorous, complete with sweat and maybe some shaky legs.
Flexibility is certainly not a requirement for yoga. Most people aren’t very flexible when they start practicing yoga. It comes with time, and some of us may never fold into a twisty pretzel shape, and that’s ok!
Do I need my own mat?
If you have a mat and would like to bring it, please do! We have a couple of mats available to borrow on a first-come-first-served basis.
What other things should I bring to class?
Some people thrive on the basics and just bring themselves and their mat. Others like to be more comfortable and bring props to help assist them. It’s all up to you. Here’s a few things you may consider bringing to make your class more enjoyable:
-Yoga mat
-Yoga or bath towel (some people like to lay one over their mat if they know they’re going to be sweating)
-Block(s) for support or extra reach
-Yoga strap for getting into a stretch
-Water bottle
-Eye cover, blanket, or jacket for Savasana
What is you cancellation policy?
If you’ve signed up for a class, but can’t make it, please e-mail or text the studio at least 2 hours in advance so that we can release your spot to someone else. We understand that emergencies happen, and such situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you pre-paid for the class, that payment can be credited to your account and used for a future class. The expiration date for class credits is 6 months from date of purchase of the initial class. If you have further questions regarding cancellations, please contact us at theupliftstudio@gmail.com or (435) 538 – 2160.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept the following types of payment:
– Cash
– Card (available for online bookings and in-person transactions)
